Steve Slakey, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, has been with the WSPA team since August 2007.  He is responsible for managing all of WSPA’s financial activities.

After graduating from college, Steve went to work in public accounting where he earned his license as a Certified Public Accountant.  He decided to leave public accounting to work in private industry and ended up working in the healthcare field for the next 23 years working up to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Immediately prior to joining WSPA, Steve served for 12 years as the Chief Financial Officer for Sierra Vista Hospital, a psychiatric hospital located in Sacramento.  In this capacity, Steve was responsible for all accounting and business office functions in addition to overseeing the construction of a significant expansion of the facility.

Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Sacramento.  Steve is married to Jackie Sapnaro Slakey and they have five children and seven grandchildren.
